About Alyana
Alyana Escobia is a passionate Registered Occupational Therapist with four years of total clinical experience. She holds a Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy from the University of Alberta and a Bachelor of Science in Occupational Therapy. Dedicated to empowering neurodiverse and autistic populations, she specializes in working with school-aged children between 5 and 13 years old.
Alyana is deeply committed to helping children develop the skills and confidence to participate fully in everyday activities. She believes every child possesses unique strengths and partners closely with families to create meaningful, practical, and individualized strategies that foster independence. Her family-centered practice places a strong emphasis on caregiver education and in-home community services, allowing children to build essential skills in their natural environments.
In her clinical practice, Alyana has developed specific niches in building comfort, association, and independence with toileting routines. She also provides play-based feeding therapy focused on oral tolerance through a supportive, low-pressure approach. Furthermore, her comprehensive expertise spans sensory processing and integration within daily routines, emotional regulation coaching, fine motor development, and fostering body awareness and interoception.
She has valuable experience successfully supporting autistic and neurodivergent children across multiple settings to ensure consistent progress. By utilizing play-based therapeutic modalities and evidence-based practices, Alyana creates individualized treatment plans outlining clear goals. Ultimately, her goal is to empower children and their families to achieve success in the activities that matter most to them.
