Does your child feel anxious for back-to-school? Are they eager to learn how to make a friend, how to be a friend, and how to keep a friend? Our Ready, Set, School! camp is the perfect opportunity for your child to learn new skills, address their social anxiety, and to have tons of fun with like-minded peers!

We are running this back-to-school prep camp for kids ages 10-12 where there will be fun activities, games, crafts, and social activities to mitigate social anxiety and prepare your pre-teen for back to school. Each day will have a new mental health theme, so your child will enjoy a balance of fun activities with the development of social skills.

This camp is running 9am-12pm Monday August 12-Thursday August 15 at the Chantel Berube Youth Center in Beaumont. This half-day camp is a perfect opportunity to immerse your child in a fun, welcoming environment with like-minded peers. We will have limited enrollment in this camp, so a deposit will be requested at the time of registration to secure your child’s spot. The cost is $373.00, and we can accept payment in full at the time of registration, or a 50% deposit. The remaining 50% of the camp fee will be processed on the first day.

Some of the exciting activities and themes we are looking forward to are:

  • learning how to make a friend, be a friend, and keep a friend
  • addressing social anxiety and back-to-school anxiety
  • developing social skills to engage with peers and build self-confidence
  • engaging in play to develop cooperative skills with others
  • utilizing physical activity as a fun coping tool, and to build interpersonal skills
  • using art as a form of expression, creativity, and in support of mental health
  • doing fun activities themed around mental health

This neurodiversity perspective, which has gained significant traction in Canadian healthcare and education settings, emphasizes that autistic people experience the world differently—not deficiently.
