Dr. Mercy Yeboah-Ampadu is a highly experienced child therapist and social worker with a remarkable career, spanning 25 years. With a rich background in clinical practice across diverse populations, she has made significant contributions as a retired military social worker, children’s book author, and educator in children’s therapy and social work.
Having earned a PhD in social work with a clinical specialization focusing on motherhood and the intricate balance between work and childcare demands, Dr. Mercy brings a unique perspective to her practice. Her journey as an Afghanistan war veteran, where she served on the front lines assisting soldiers dealing with trauma and supporting their families back home, has deeply shaped her understanding of resilience and healing.
Dr. Mercy brings many years of expertise in play therapy, sandplay, Theraplay, and other innovative play-based approaches. Through these modalities, she empowers young individuals to express and navigate their emotional experiences, fostering a deeper self-awareness and positive outlook on the world around them.
