About Darielle
I am a Registered Provisional Psychologist, under the supervision of Dr. Melody, Dr. Mercy, and Mitchell, with over 10 years of experience supporting children, youth, adults, and families in a variety of roles. My background in coaching, group home support, and summer camp leadership gave me the privilege of working closely with people through both challenges and growth. I supported children and teens in group home settings during moments of crisis, learning how to facilitate regulation, de-escalate situations, and help youth develop healthy coping strategies. At summer camps, I mentored staff and youth leaders, teaching problem-solving skills and helping young people build confidence. Through coaching, I guided athletes in not only achieving physical goals but also strengthening mental resilience and focus, skills that deeply inform my work in therapy today.
As a former competitive gymnast, I have lived the connection between mind and body. Gymnastics taught me about perfectionism, the frustration of mental blocks when you want to move forward but feel stuck, the stress of competition and performance anxiety, and the process of breaking down big challenges into smaller, more manageable steps. These experiences mirror what many clients face, whether it’s the pressure of academic performance, the fear of taking the next step in life, or the feeling of being stuck in cycles of anxiety or self-doubt. I draw on this understanding to help clients build resilience, set realistic goals, and navigate obstacles with self-compassion.
In therapy, one size does not fit all. I utilize several different approaches tailored to each client’s needs, drawing from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), and Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) for OCD and phobias. For example, when supporting a teen transitioning to high school who is experiencing test anxiety or body image concerns, I might blend CBT to reframe unhelpful thought patterns, DBT to teach distress tolerance and emotion regulation skills, EFT to process underlying emotions, and SFBT to help identify strengths and small, practical steps forward. With OCD or phobias, ERP techniques can gradually help clients face fears in a supportive and structured way. My goal is always to ensure therapy feels relevant, practical, and aligned with each person’s unique circumstances.
I work with people across all ages and backgrounds and value the diversity of experiences clients bring. While I find it especially meaningful to support teens and young adults navigating transitions and identity development, I also appreciate the opportunity to work with adults seeking clarity, healing, or personal growth.
Above all, I believe that clients are the experts on their own lives. In our first session, I start by learning about your story in your own words: what matters to you, what you hope to gain from therapy, and what strengths you already carry. From there, we build a collaborative partnership where your voice guides the process. My role is to bring clinical tools, insights, and support while ensuring therapy feels like a conversation rather than a hierarchy.
When I’m not in the office, you can find me curled up with a good book, baking something sweet, or enjoying the outdoors (as long as it’s not too cold!). Having recently moved to Beaumont from a small town, I’m excited to join the community and hope to get back into adult gymnastics classes soon.
If you’re curious about therapy or want to explore what working together might look like, I’d be happy to answer your questions and help you take the first step toward the changes you want to see.
